MRTA Legislative Day on March 10, 2026, at the Missouri State Capitol. Legislative Day is an opportunity for MRTA members to come together and make our voices heard on issues that directly impact public education and education retirees. The morning will include an MRTA rally at the Capitol, updates on current legislative issues, and time to meet with your legislators and share your perspective. Attendees may park at Capital Bluffs Event Center, located at 1616 Oilwell Road, Suite B, Jefferson City, MO 65101, and ride the trolley to and from the Capitol. Trolley service will begin at 8:30 a.m. All attendees must register, UNLESS you are attending the Leadership Summit. If you are attending the Leadership Summit, please do not register here. For those attending Legislative Day only, participation may conclude after the Capitol events, or you may choose to stay for the optional Legislative Luncheon at Capital Bluffs. The luncheon includes time to hear directly from legislators and continue conversations from the morning. The cost for the luncheon for Legislative Day–only attendees is $20. Legislative Day Details
Legislative Day is an opportunity for MRTA members to engage directly in the legislative process and advocate for issues that impact public education and education retirees across Missouri.
The day will begin with transportation to the Capitol for those who choose to ride the shuttle. Trolley service from Capital Bluffs will begin at 8:30 a.m. Members who are local are encouraged to visit with their legislators earlier in the morning, if possible, before the formal program begins.
The official Legislative Day program will start at 10:30 a.m. at the Capitol with the MRTA rally and will include speakers addressing current legislative issues, followed by dedicated time for attendees to meet with their legislators and share their perspectives.
After the Capitol activities conclude, attendees will return to Capital Bluffs for a luncheon. During lunch, participants will hear directly from legislators and have additional opportunities for discussion and engagement. The luncheon is included for all Leadership Summit attendees and serves as a transition into the Leadership Summit programming later in the day. For those attending Legislative Day only, the cost of the luncheon is $20.
