Download the June postcard here! We are excited to share an advocacy effort designed to strengthen member engagement and amplify our collective voice in Jefferson City. Over the years, many members have shared the same concern: “I want to help, but I don’t know what I can do.” This program is designed to give members a simple, consistent way to take action each month. MRTA Mail the MessageA Monthly Postcard Advocacy ProgramSometimes the smallest actions make the biggest impact. A postcard sent at the right time can influence conversations, reinforce our message, and remind lawmakers that public education and retirement security matter. Through this program, Missouri Retired Teachers Association will create one postcard each month focused on: • Protecting public education • Defending PSRS/PEERS and retirement security • Opposing harmful legislation and unfunded mandates Members may participate by signing up for MRTA Mail the Message and choosing one of two options: Option 1: Print Your Own – Free Members may download each month’s postcard and print as many as they would like. Option 2: Mail-Ready Postcards – 15 postcards for $20 For $20, MRTA will: • Print and mail a set of 3 postcards per month during Missouri’s legislative session (15 postcards total) • Include simple instructions on where to send them (State Representative, State Senator, and Governor) Members simply sign, address, stamp, and mail. Mailing InstructionsPlease mail your postcard on or around the first day of each month. To find your legislators, visit: https://www.senate.mo.gov/legislookup/default Please mail one postcard to each of the following: • Your State Senator • Your State Representative • The Governor Why This Matters – Grassroots Advocacy WorksLegislators hear daily from well-funded special interest groups. When thousands of MRTA members send the same clear message, our voice becomes stronger and harder to ignore. These postcards help turn concern into action and keep public education and pensions front and center. Thank you for your continued leadership and support as we look for new ways to engage members and protect the future of public education and retirement security.
